Autolite LED Emergency Flame Proof Exit / Egress Lights (EL/M/NM/FP) are designed to provide dependable emergency exit and egress illumination for applications where a robust flame-proof lighting solution is required. The product combines LED emergency lighting with a flame-proof aluminium housing, rechargeable battery operation and protected construction for demanding industrial environments.

The EL/M/NM/FP series is available in both maintained and non-maintained configurations. The maintained model is designed to remain illuminated during normal operation, while the non-maintained model is intended to operate during an emergency when the normal power supply is interrupted. Both configurations provide approximately 2 hours of emergency backup and use a 9W LED light source.

Maintained and Non-Maintained Operation

The EL/M/NM/FP range is offered in maintained and non-maintained configurations to accommodate different emergency lighting requirements. The maintained version, LED EL/M/FP, provides continuous exit illumination during normal operation and continues to operate from its internal battery when the mains supply fails. The non-maintained version, LED EL/NM/FP, is designed primarily for emergency operation and activates when the normal power supply is interrupted.

Both models are specified with a 9W LED and approximately 2 hours of emergency backup. This self-contained configuration allows the emergency lighting unit to provide illumination without requiring a separate external emergency power supply.

Flame Proof Aluminium Housing

The product uses an aluminium housing finished with epoxy paint, providing a durable enclosure for the emergency lighting assembly. The flame-proof housing is identified as CMRI certified on the Autolite product specification. A heat-resistant clear borosil glass diffuser is used to provide durability around the light source.

The product is specified with IP20 protection and is therefore intended for suitable indoor applications where this level of environmental protection is appropriate. Selection and installation should take into account the area’s classification, environmental conditions and applicable electrical and safety requirements.
